The Latest Conditions for International Flights to Bali

AP I President Director Faik Fahmi said the government’s decision to open international doors through Surabaya Juanda Airport will help increase the movement of Juanda Airport.

“The opening of Juanda Airport international flights will be focused on serving PMI arrivals,” he said, Monday 3/1/2022).

Juanda Airport is opened for international flight arrivals on January 1, 2022. International flight arrivals will be served at Terminal 2 (T2) of Juanda Airport so that the flight area and international passengers are separated from domestic passengers.

In the early stages, the international passenger arrival capacity or PMI at Juanda Airport is only 300 passengers per day. Juanda Airport also provides a special isolation counter and room for international passengers who test positive for Covid-19 so that they can be directed directly using a special vehicle to the designated hospital.

“We are also coordinating closely with all relevant stakeholders so that services for international flights at Juanda Airport can run smoothly according to the rules,” he added.

Previously, the central government gave directions to open Juanda Airport Surabaya for international flights as an effort to anticipate the buildup of international travelers through Soekarno Hatta Airport.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said opening a maximum of three flights per week while evaluating whether additional flights were needed.

“The government is learning from the quarantine process in Jakarta so that it knows what needs to be improved. Operational certainty will be taken today in a coordination meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs [Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan],” he said.

Budi further said that the opening of international arrivals through Juanda Airport is intended to reduce congestion through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta, which has reached 3,500 – 4,000 passengers per day.

In order to prevent imported transmission of Covid-19, continued the Minister of Transportation, passengers are required to quarantine for 10-14 days (depending on travel history) with 2 PCR tests with negative results. “This regulation was taken as a precautionary measure against the entry of the Omicron variant virus, which spreads faster.

With the opening of Juanda Airport in Surabaya, there are currently 4 international arrival gates, along with Soekarno Hatta – Jakarta, Ngurah Rai – Bali, and Sam Ratulangi – Manado.
